The Ornithological Park is located just 100 metres from one of the most attractive beaches of Almuñecar and the Costa Tropical.
It is home to over 1.500 specimens from nearly 200 different species. The variety is so wide and their origins so diverse that it generates great expectation in both residents of Almuñecar and visitors alike as well as being of significant importance to the Costa del Sol and, of course, the Costa Tropical.
From the Hotel Suites Albayzin del Mar to the Bird Park of Loro Sexi there is a short stroll down the streets of Almuñecar which lead guests to the Botanical Park of El Majuelo, where they can see the remains of the ancient Roman Fish Salting Factory, alternatively guests can take a different route along the promenade of San Cristobal beach next to the Peñones del Santo which have been nominated as candidates to becoming declared a Natural Monument of Andalucía.
The Ornithological park of Loro Sexi also offers another attraction to visitors, the “Jardin de Cactus” or Cactus Garden situated in the highest part of the park, near the arabic walls of the castle.
